Small Parties

Small Parties can be some of the most memorable, I'm sure you if you think about it you remember a party where it was just you and 2 or 3 of your best-est friends ever.

These parties are usually a lot easier on the parent and a lot less hectic. Plus the biggest perk is these can usually be set up really quickly and at a moments notice.

Perks of Small Parties

  • Usually cost less
  • Can be set up faster
  • Much easier on your nerves
  • Way easier to keep track of the kids

Small parties are pretty easy to set up by yourself, so this could save you from going crazy and knocking out your husband with a frying pan, becuase he forgot to pick up plastic forks or <insert item here>, and now you feel bad.

Small parties can easily adjust to situations much more easily. example:  Your wonderful husband that you would never bonk on the head with a frying pan forgot to pick up cupcakes for the party on his way home from work.  Depending on your child you could always say "change of plans instead of cupcakes your all gonna go get ICE CREAM!!",  and walk to the nearest ice cream parlor, Or make the cupcakes yourself and have the kids decorate there own (then make your husband clean up the mess).

So when setting things up for a small party you will be able to adjust things as you go if needed.

Setting it Up

Since these can usually be thrown together pretty quickly you will only need a 2-3 days prep time.

  1. Figure out the number of guests your child will be allowed to invite, or if its going to be a surprise, invite his best friends over.
  2. When the party is going to be held. and from what time to what time. ( try to factor in the kid crazy factor for your sanity  and go accordingly)
  3. Plan out the food, depending on what type of party its going to be and how long this could be very simple snack foods to actual meals (personally I suggest ordering Pizza kids love that).
  4. Decide on the activities You want to have this set up before hand, this could be as simple as going bowling, renting some movies and video games to as extreme as makeovers  (ok that last one is more for girls) Have some fun and think about it.
  5. Get it done, don't forget becuase you will not have that many kids you can change the activities and possibly food much more easily than you could with many more kids.
